Stephen J. Roy Memorial Scholarship Fund
Stephen J. Roy was a consummate professional who left a lasting legacy while practicing law as City Attorney for the City of Fort Collins. He was Colorado’s preeminent municipal attorney at the time of his death in 2014. Mr. Roy served as past president of the Larimer County Bar Association, the Metro City Attorney’s Association and Chair of the Attorney’s Section of the Colorado Municipal League. In 2012, Mr. Roy was honored with the Larimer County Bar Association’s Professionalism Award. Mr. Roy had an incredibly sharp legal mind, a profound sense of humility and a wonderful sense of humor. His ethics and integrity were absolutely unquestioned, and serve as a model for all who aspire to serve in the legal profession.
The purpose of this scholarship fund is to provide assistance to students with financial need who reside in or otherwise have substantial ties to Larimer County, and who have an interest in the study of law or our system of government, debate or other similar law-related educational activities.
